Year 2

Hello Year 2 children, I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend.

Practice these words. Make sure the joins are clear.

Challenge: Can you write these words in sentences and use a range of punctuation  .  ,  '  ?  !  " "

This week we are going to be looking at the story Jack and the Bean Stalk. There are lots of videos on the computer that you may want to watch.

Read the following story and answer the questions.

The Giant has been to visit you and left giant footprints!

Draw or make some giant footprints. You could use chalk, sticks or draw it on paper. Measure the length and the width of each footprint.

Are all the footprints the same size? Can you work out the difference in sizes?

Today I would like you to plant your bean.

All you need to do is put the bean into a glass or a jam jar with some wet kitchen paper. You will be able to see the roots and the shoots start to grow. Make sure that you keep the paper wet and when the leaves have grown, you can plant it in our outside area.

Play the bean game with members of your family. Have a look at the names and actions for the different beans. Can you make up some of your own?
