Good morning Year 1 and welcome to another week of learning tasks. We hope that you had a good weekend.

 

Phonics

Have a look at this story and see if you can write a list of all of the words that you can find with the -er sound in. Can you put the words into new sentences?

 

Reading

Read the story and then have a go at answering the questions.

1. Name three types of big cats.

2. Do cheetah's roar?

3. What does 'at the top of their food chain' mean?

4. Wear do big cats live?

5. Find out what the word 'carnivore' means.

Maths

This week we are thinking about time and we would like you to think about things that you do at different times of the day. Write a list of what time you do the following things-

Get up

Have your breakfast

Have a shower or bath

Have your lunch

Play

Read

Have your tea

Have some relaxation time

Go to bed

Science

Have a think about the food that you eat- keep a diary so that you can track what you eat and drink over a week. Can you make any 'healthy swap' for the food that you eat?

Can you plan a really healthy menu? Use the eatwell plate to help you!
