Hello Year 1 children.
We are hope you are well and enjoying the activities that we are giving you to try at home.
Listen to the story of Jasper's Beanstalk.
Have a go at writing the story yourself, trying to remember what Jasper did on different days. Don't forget to write in sentences with capital letters and full stops. You could even use some super adjectives to describe how Jasper is feeling at different points in the story.
So far this week you have been working out the maths that you need to do for different word problems. Now we would like you to show us that you really understand the calculation by writing the word problems yourself.
For example- If the calculation is 20-15=, you could write...
Sam went to the shop and bought 20 sweets. He gave 15 to Jack. How many did he have left?
Have a go for these calculations:
17 + 6 =
10 + 10 =
16 - 8 =
25 - 5 =
11 + 9=
Today we are going to have a look at an art style called Pointillism. This is where the picture is made up of lots of small dots. You could draw these using a pencil or pen or you could do them with paint using your finger or a cotton bud. You could even use little coloured stickers if you have them.
Start by drawing the outline of your picture and then just have fun filling in the dots. There are some pictures below to give you some ideas!
