Welcome to the Key Stage One News Page!
We do some many wonderful things in school and we would like to share them with you. We shall update this page so that you can see what has been happening.
Welcome to the new school year. All of the children have settled in brilliantly into their new Year 1 and Year 2 classes. They are getting to know each other and making lots of new friends. They had a special assembly with Mrs Butele all about what it means to be a wonderful Short Woody. Watch this space for more exciting news as we go through the term!
Food, Glorious Food
We had a wonderful start to our new term with a visit to Morrells Wood Farm. We met the cows and found out all about the food chain. Thank you so much to Farmer Derek for letting us visit!
'Up, Up and Away'
What a brilliant start we had to our new term and new topic with a visit to see The Snowman in Birmingham. It was amazing and we used it to inspire us to write some amazing descriptions of the snowman and the little boy.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Phew...what a busy term we have had. We have loved our topic, 'Let's celebrate'.
We shall see you next year in 2022!
As part of our topic on Celebrations this term, we have found out about Diwali. The children all made Diva lamps and Assia arranged them for us in the hall. Mrs Harris told us all the story of Rama and Sita.
World War 1 Trail
As part of their outdoor learning session this week, the children in Key Stage One followed a trail of clues about World War 1. They found out about the story of Ben and Ray and their journey from the farm to the battlefields. As part of their history learning, they looked for different sources to help them find out more.
Here is the story we were looking at for you to share at home.
Remember, Remember the Fifth of November!
The Year 1 and 2 children took part in a special outdoor history trail when they found out about a man called Guy Fawkes!
