Staff have promoted pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development outstandingly well to create a highly positive culture and ethos where all groups have an equal chance to succeed without discrimination. This work is supported by the school’s role in the cooperative trust, which has helped cement its place at the heart of the community.
We firmly believe that children must be told and congratulated when they do things well. This can be for good work, good behaviour or the attitudes shown towards school work and other pupils, or a combination of all of these things. The ‘Golden Leaves’ are awarded each Friday at a special celebration Assembly open to parents and the wider community. The children are proud of these awards and they have been especially designed so that parents will know why they had been chosen and to continue the praise and encouragement at home.
We work in partnership with parents, carers, governors and the wider community on an ongoing basis and we have an ‘open door policy’ where we welcome feedback, suggestions and new ideas and can always ensure someone is available to discuss any issues that may impact on a child’s education.
We also enjoy excellent partnerships with creative professionals, artists, sports coaches, our local authority, other schools in our cluster and a variety of local businesses. Through these relationships we are able to participate in numerous exciting and enriching events and offer all children opportunities and experiences to shine and be the very best they can be.
