KS1 and KS2

Intervention groups are used consistently throughout KS1 and KS2 for targeting children with areas of concern such as maths, reading, writing, speech & language and social and emotional skills. If parents have a concern they are welcome to discuss this at any time with the class teacher or SENCO.

  • 1:1 and small group Phonic support

  • 1:1 and small group Speech and language support

  • Abacus Maths

  • Speed Sounds (Phonics)

  • Extra reading – 1:1

  • Learning mentor support – 1:1/ small group

These are the current interventions which are used to meet the needs of pupils currently within our school. Staff at Short Wood monitor and review the intervention/support regularly. This list is not exhaustive and is consistently reviewed to meet the needs of all pupils in collaboration with parents.
